| Join a motivated Web team and help advance the award-winning and highly visited site of a leading academic medical center. Consistently rated as one of the top ten hospitals in America by U.S. News and World Report, Brigham and Women¿s Hospital seeks a Web designer for its extensive site that serves for many as the ¿front door¿ to the hospital. Working with members of the Web team and other staff, the web designer will contribute toward making the site a valuable resource for current and prospective patients from around the world. |
| Responsibilities |
| Design 1. Participate in the Marketing team¿s creative development process. 2. Consult with hospital departments and Marketing staff to develop and manage web design projects which could include: web pages, templates, page elements, landing pages, e-mail templates, info graphics and banners. 3. Create comps and wireframes. 4. Convert comps into validating web pages. 5. Develop and extend Brigham and Women¿s existing web design within the hospital¿s branding standards. Production 1. Implement content and design solutions in the hospital¿s content management system (Interwoven TeamSite) 2. Assist web editors with CMS production solutions, technical needs, and CMS-related tasks. 3. Support Marketing staff with editorial, communications, and information design tasks and projects. 4. Perform site QA. |
| Requirements |
| QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor¿s degree in communications, graphic design, or related field. 2. 3 years experience in web design and production. 3. Expertise in XHTML, CSS, and web and graphics applications (e.g., Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver) SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Demonstrated ability in graphic design. 2. A broad understanding of interface design, web typography and color palettes. 3. Knowledge in applying usability, accessibility, and user-centered design principles. 4. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 5. Ability to work independently and as part of the web team. 6. Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and manage priorities. 7. Experience with content management systems. 8. MS Windows proficiency.
