Position Description

PHP WEB DEVELOPER

Golfsmith’s Information Services Team is a highly skilled group that develops, maintains and supports the e-commerce site www.golfsmith.com. This opportunity is ideal for one who has superior PHP, MySQL and SQL Server or Oracle programming skills. The Developer will need to be proficient and energetic with an understanding of system development life cycle and will be responsible for developing and supporting our web site.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:


 

  • Responsible for working with users to gather user requirements and creating specification documents
  • Enhancing and Adding new functionality on the current web site.
  • Ability to work and produce required results with little to no close supervision
  • Willingness to learn new technologies like .NET C#.

 

Current Production Environment:

  • PHP 5, MySQL and SQL Server 2005 for Web applications
  • Multiple Sun systems running Solaris v2.9 (E450, E3000, E4500, E6500, E6900)
  • Oracle DBMS at  v8.1.7 (8i)
  • Oracle Applications at v11.0.3 (HR, Finance, Payroll, MRP, Order Entry, etc.)
  • SQL Server 2005 with .Net C# (1.1 to 3.5) applications.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 - NT desktop and BackOffice environment

 

 

Essential Requirements and Qualifications:


 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience preferred
  • 5 years total programming experience

  

Required Skills

  • 4 yrs object oriented PHP programming experience with e-commerce sites.
  • 2 yrs experience in WEB 2.0 framework (MVC pattern) and AJAX programming.
  • MySQL, SQL server or Oracle PL/SQL programming experience - minimum of 3 years
  • 5 years total programming experience

 

Additional Desired Skills

  • Working with Zend framework.
  • Web Services/SOAP
  • Endeca Search Engine
  • C# .NET programming knowledge
