JOB DUTIES: The Web Administrator/Programmer is responsible for and works to perform tasks directly related to the support of Web servers, Web-related operating systems, Web-related software applications, Web interfaces to network-based applications, Web application development, and problem resolution. Primary duties include: create Web systems to increase productivity and solve problems; maintain existing Web services; create and maintain documentation on new and existing Web services; troubleshoot Web service problems; analyze business processes; and assist with Web server hardware and operating systems. Will perform other similar duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in computer information systems or related field; experience in Web site development and programming or related field; and knowledge of Linux, databases, LDAP, HTML, Web programming languages (Java or Perl), and Web server (Apache, Web Logic, or Oracle Application Server) administration and hardware administration. Demands of the position require the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing; plan and coordinate projects; write and update documentation on Web systems; and design and program complex Web systems. Knowledge of uPortal, Wikis, course management systems, XML, HTTP protocol, SQL, Oracle, CSS, iPlanet and Windows Server are a plus. Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.
