Job description
**
  • This position is located onsite in Dubuque, IA and no remote work is available. Relocation assistance MAY be considered in rare cases and in those rare cases, would only be considered for our key skills and higher level roles.**

    IBM's Technical Services Delivery Center in downtown Dubuque, Iowa is seeking Technical Support Specialists responsible for providing support for problem and change tickets for client server support operations surrounding the Commercial Web Middleware infrastructure. Incumbent assesses situation to determine problem facing the client. Problems are not routine or standardized and the creation of documentation explaining the solution to the problem is required. Responsible for implementing changes to the client's environment.

    IT Specialists in this job role will have expertise in one or more server technologies, including different hardware architectures and operating systems. Typical examples of the deliverables are building proof-of-concept solutions with server system technology and architecting server solutions to address client requirements. IT Specialists in this job role work with products or solutions based on any vendor hardware and/or any vendor operating system software. IT Specialists who primarily apply their technical skills in an internal or external customer billable services and implementation environment.

    Remote work is not available. Pager coverage and off shift coverage will be required.

    Primary Job Responsibilities:
    * Support problem and change tickets for client server support operations for work involving problem determination and implementation of changes to hardware, software, applications or network systems. These tasks are not standardized and require independent thought and problem solving to resolve. Interaction with other teams is often required to solve issues
    * Team members participate once or more a day in cadence discussion on team performance. They discuss issues or challenges, and receive trouble-shooting input /advice from other team members. They may also discuss team performance trends. Team members may also separately interact and exchange information with members of cross-pool teams.

    Required

    • High School Diploma/GED
    • At least 1 year experience in Middleware Admin within any of the following Technologies:WebSphere Application Server, BEA Weblogic Application Server, IBM HTTP Server/Apache, Sun Web Server, WebSphere Portal, WebSphere MQ Series
    • At least 6 months experience in at least one or more of the following: installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies
    • At least 1 year experience in supporting within any operating systems and Web Middleware infrastructure environments
    • English: Fluent


    Preferred

    • Associate's Degree/College Diploma in Information Technology
    • At least 2 years experience in Middleware Admin within any of the following Technologies:WebSphere Application Server, BEA Weblogic Application Server, IBM HTTP Server/Apache, Sun Web Server, WebSphere Portal, WebSphere MQ Series
    • At least 1 year experience in at least one or more of the following: installing, troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies
    • At least 2 years experience in supporting within any operating systems and Web Middleware infrastructure environments
    • Basic knowledge in LEAN methodologies
    • Basic knowledge in Maximo tool
    • At least 1 year experience in Middleware Administration experience within WebMethods, Tibco, BizTalk, Weblogic and/or Cyclone
    • At least 2 years experience in zOS
    • Certified in at least 1 Middleware product such as WebSphere Application Server or other similar technology
