Florexpo/Kendal Floral imports over 500 varieties of flowers from their thirty-four South American farms and in partnership with over 100 western U.S. growers, and supplies them to other wholesalers and to some of the biggest retailers in the western United States such as Costco, Wal-Mart, Albertson’s, Kroger, Safeway and Sam’s Club.  Florexpo/Kendal Floral also manufactures floral bouquets and distributes them from its three prime locations in Carlsbad, CA., Monterrey Bay, CA. and Canby, OR. The company employs about 600 employees in the U.S. and 13,000 employees in Colombia. 

SUMMARY

Leads the Shipping crew in an effort to ensure excellent customer service through accurate and timely filling of orders.  Directs crew to meet deadlines and minimize downtime.  Monitors supplies and coordinates other administrative functions for the department. 

• Prioritizes sales orders to ensure cut off times are met.
• Oversees crew to ensure orders are filled accurately.
• Distributes work evenly among crew to ensure equity in the department.
• Monitors daily attendance of crew and reports any issues to Operations Manager.
• Verifies that the invoice designates the correct carrier in order to eliminate errors and expedite the shipment.
• Continuously prints orders to maintain flow of order pulling and meet shipment deadlines.
• Verifies that all orders are picked up on and contacts sales person with any problems. 
• Logs all invoice numbers in sequence to ensure no orders are missed.
• Coordinates with sales on special needs for customers in order to provide excellent customer service.
• Monitors Shipping supplies and equipment to maintain optimum efficiency in the department.
• Ensures all new employees are properly trained and oriented.
• Leads crew in daily stretching exercises in an effort to minimize injuries.
• Monitors the group to ensure all safety procedures are followed.
• Ensures communication is professional and representative of the Company’s philosophies.
• Takes proactive steps to ensure issues are dealt with quickly and appropriately.
•  Keeps Operations Manager up to date on all employee issues and/or potential problems. 

Requirements:

Ability to work Tuesday to Saturday during night shift

2 years experience in a lead position

Computer skills

Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
