Warehouse/Logistics Sales Executive

The Suddath Companies, one of United Van Lines’ largest and premier agencies, has a current opening for a sales professional as a Warehouse/Logistics Sales Executive to support our Houston, TX and Dallas, TX branch locations.  This person can be based out of either location but will be supporting both equally and will be required to travel as needed.

Suddath has built and maintains a network of warehouse facilities in 16 major markets across the U.S.  Our investment in these facilities gives us the capability to offer flexible storage options to our customers. Each high-capacity location is outfitted with the latest in technology infrastructure, climate-control and security systems to manage the wide variety of needs for our many clients.

               

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and generate new revenue focused on warehouse, distribution and fulfillment operations in the Houston and Dallas markets
  • Heavy use of cold calling, networking and other sales techniques to find new business
  • Generate revenue consistent with company goals and objectives
  • Grow  and develop established business with current customer base by offering other business services
  • Develop  and deliver effective sales presentations in a professional manner
  •  Travel to client sites as needed as well as frequent travel to both warehouse locations
  • Attend industry events and maintain professional membership status as a way to both network within the industry and uncover new business
  • Work with operations staff to ensure customer requirements/expectations are clearly defined to ensure top customer service
  • Produce and distribute activity reports / maintain CRM database
  • Work with management team to develop pricing and proposals (RFP’s) as needed

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university is preferred. 
  • Minimum of two years sales experience preferably in Warehousing, Distribution, Logistics or 3PL environments.

Requirements:

·         The successful candidate must have a hunter mentality with a strong focus on identifying and closing new business

·         Able to effectively prospect and qualify high potential customers

·         Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time including overnight travel

·         Able to work independently

·         Must be able to solve problems and deal with customer concerns on the fly

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills

·         Proven success of meeting and exceeding sales goals

·         Able to execute in a high pressure environment
