Job Description


A leading Gulf South company with interests in stevedoring, terminal operations and cold storage operations throughout the Gulf Region is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager.


 


Responsibilities and Requirements:



  • Read, analyze and interpret technical instructions, government regulations, safety rules and procedural manuals
  • Must be able to define problems, collect date, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Communicates with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and codes.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Directs transportation of cargo by developing methods and procedures for storage and distribution for shipments.
  • Supervises the scheduling of orders for shipment.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Establishes and maintains professional, courteous relationships with customers.
