Job Purpose:
Responsible for the planning and organizing of the workforce (union and non-union) and directing the warehouse on a day-to-day work plan. Coordinates warehouse activities under the direction of the Senior Operations Manager.
Job Duties:
Ø Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse to include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance and inventory control.
Ø Responsible for warehouse out of stocks, receiving errors, selection errors, and warehouse slotting of products.
Ø Generates warehouse productivity reports, in regard to selection rates, receiving rates and accounts for all labor hours, both direct and indirect. Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and division goals.
Ø Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventative maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
Ø Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
Ø Recommends equipment requirements and replacements to the Senior Operations Manager in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
Ø Acts as replacement for the Senior Operations Manager during vacation periods, or when the Senior Manager is unavailable for staff meetings, etc.
Ø Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings; ensures a productive labor climate in the warehouse operation.
Ø Handles hiring, discipline, training and termination of employees.
Ø Conducts performance appraisals of Warehouse supervisors.
Ø Coordinates with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations.
Ø Completes necessary Activity Reports for management.
Ø Attends regular and called meetings as required.
Ø Supervises directly the work of Receiving Supervisor, Shipping Supervisor, Inventory Control Analyst and Operations Supervisors.
Ø Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.
Ø Maintains efficient manpower schedules and conducts maintenance activities.

Job Qualifications:
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field required.
Ø Four years operational managerial experience required.
Ø Warehouse managerial experience preferred.
Ø Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Ø AS400 experience preferred.
Ø Good written and oral communications skills.
