Job Description:
The Distribution Center has a full time position available for a Director of Distribution in our Northern New Jersey location. The position will primarily be responsible for planning and directing the inventory and distribution of products in order to attain maximum profitability. This individual will develop and enforce policies and procedures for the organization. This position will be responsible for setting budgets, ensuring that the Distribution Center is operating within the budget guidelines and maintaining the profitability of operations. The Director of DC will manage the overall work flow throughout the Distribution Center and will be responsible for developing and implementing changes in order to improve workflow processes. This individual will have the opportunity to develop operating metrics and to report efficiency data to Senior Management. In addition, this person will work closely with a staff of Supervisors, Operations Manager and Human Resources to accomplish goals.

- Extensive overall logistics management experience with specific experiences in project management.
- Must have good time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects, and process multiple tasks as required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks necessary to accomplish goals, develop a schedule to complete tasks and execute to achieve results.
- Must be able to anticipate and overcome obstacles in the achievement of goals and commitments.
- Oversee the training and development of Supervisors and Department Heads
- Provide a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities.
- Recommend measures to improve work methods.
- Maintain a clean warehouse that conforms to all quality standards.
- Manage forklifts, forklift maintenance and propane levels.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years experience in operations, or the equivalent required.
- Work experience required in Logistics, Operations, Engineering, Technology or related discipline
- BS/BA degree required in related discipline.
- Ability to make significant decisions without deferring to others.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of staff throughout the company.
- WMS, Prophet 21 and RF Technology experience
- OSHA and ISO experience preferred
-Bilingual preferred, not required
- Experience in a union and non-union environment
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Some travel may be required
