This is an immediate opening for a Slumberland furniture -Warehouse and Delivery Manager. (We also have positions available for an office manager and a store manager)

Located in Springfield, IL. Springfield is the state capitol of
Illinois. It is also the burial place of Abraham Lincoln as well as
the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and
Library.
Slumberland Warehouse Operations Manager will combine their leadership, motivational and customer
service skills to ensure the continued success of the store and staff. The primary
function of a Warehouse manager is to oversee, direct and guide all facets
of the operation of the store's warehouse and delivery functions in order to maximize efficiencies, profitability, and deliver outstanding customer service. The Manager should also ensure
adherence to the Slumberland Furniture's corporate policies and
procedures reporting directly to the Store Manager of the Slumberland Store.
Job Purpose:
Provides materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and delivery services; supervising staff.
Duties:
* Maintains receiving, warehousing, and delivery operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
* Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
* Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
* Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
* Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
* Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
* Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
* Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
* Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Works closely with store manager to ensure unity of purpose in accomplishing store goals.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
