Water Truck Driver

HB Rentals is currently hiring for a Water Truck Driver to join our team in Midland, Texas. A qualified applicant prepares and drives water truck to rig sites to refill portable tanks.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Conducts pre-trip inspection.
  • Drives water truck to fill sites, i.e., water tower. Attaches water truck hose to water tower and fills water truck tank with 3000 gallons of water.
  • Drives water truck to rig sites in a safe manner.
  • Attaches water truck hose to portable tank rented by clients. Turns on pump and fills rented tank with water.
  • Communicates and work with co-workers and technicians at all times.
  • Maintains personal truck logs and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Writes Job Safety Report, a formal report that lists potential hazards at a location.
  • Performs service work to the truck, including oil changes, fuel filter changes and other minor repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience



  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least one year over the road experience in commercial motor vehicles.


Knowledge and Skills



  • Proficiency in reading, writing and understanding English. Excellent communication skills, even in noisy environments.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to set priorities, multi-task, resolve problems and manage time.
  • Basic mathematical skills, for example, addition and subtraction.
  • Conduct self in professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to stay alert as to make safe decisions and use proper judgment. Maintain awareness of surroundings, for example, work performed by others.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Receive constructive feedback in a positive manner.
  • Good understanding of general equipment and methods. Able to operate a forklift to lift equipment.
  • General knowledge of truck maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and government regulations.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Transportation rules, regulations, and logging requirements.
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry.


Physical Demands



  • Wears personnel protective equipment.
  • Prolonged standing and walking, bending/stooping/squatting/kneeling/crawling. Overhead work. Twisting/Rotation. Climb stairs and ladders. Good static and dynamic balance.
  • Good fine motor skills, coordination, range of motion and grip strength.
  • Weekends, holidays, nights and overtime as needed.
