Web Content Writer/ Communications Manager
The Foundation for Educational Administration is looking for a talented writer/web content manager to produce content for its websites, blog, email campaigns and other online marketing materials. This person will be responsible for all aspects of website content including, content management, writing and editing, copy writing, advertising copy, webinars, search engine optimization and website analyst duties. The ideal candidate is creative, energetic and has solid experience writing for the web as well as background in marketing and copywriting.
The ideal candidate must be organized, dependable, hardworking, flexible, self- motivated and able to multi-task. We are seeking an individual with a four year college degree or its equivalent, outstanding writing skills and a good understanding of the Internet and how e-commerce web sites work. This person will manage and supervise the IT technical team to maintain site standards with regard to new content development. This person must have the ability and skills to function as the association’s internal “journalist” reading, collecting information, interpreting data, synthesizing and writing on educational topics.
A substantial degree of creativity is expected in this role. Select candidates will be asked to submit samples of their work to be considered.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Marketing or related discipline or equivalent.
Substantial Internet writing experience with strong knowledge of web writing and best practices and content development experience.
Ability to repurpose offline copy for the web.
3 – 5 years experience managing web content and production for high traffic websites.
Advanced knowledge of HTML and graphic types, audio objects, applets, JavaScript and their inclusion into Web documents.
Exceptional communications and organizational skills across departments.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Effective, exemplary web focused writing style and an understanding of keywords and meta tags with the ability to write web page titles, meta tag descriptions, alt tags for images, etc.
Experience in supervising support staff.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Creates, designs, and produces web content per organization’s needs.
Organizes and maintains, with the senior staff, the content infrastructure of the NJ FEA web site and assists with senior staff in determining resources to distribute desired content.
Meets with senior staff to identify and locate the content that needs to be published on the web sites and edits and proofreads web content.
Coordinates and facilitates all organizational publishing activities regarding design, creation, production, and dissemination.
Assists staff in designing the aesthetics of the web site as viewed by its users.
Manages the development of information resources.
Captures best practices for content management and ensures information and knowledge resources can be readily accessed and easily retrieved.
Works with cross-enterprise teams, maintaining and developing the master content portal for all intellectual property.
Keeps current with emerging web technologies
Coordinates web projects across departments
Assures web-based information is archived for future needs and reference
Tracks and reports on all site metrics
Maintains and develops a master content calendar for all web properties
Translates key content into scripts for online video/flash/podcast production. Works with web marketing and development staff to optimize web content for natural search (SEO).
Creates, promotes, archives all organizational webinars and forums
Assesses how the FEA address the needs of constituents
