NATIONAL PEN is a privately-held promotional products company that manufactures and sells product internationally through direct mail, telesales, retail, distributor and web channels.  We are headquartered in San Diego, California, with facilities in Mexico, Tennessee, Ireland and China.

Overview

Creation of everything from site design, banners, mini-sites, flash modules, online marketing support and brand related design.  Right candidate must maintain the consistency of site appearance utilizing style guides, sheets, as well as enforcing brand guidelines and best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         High level front-end development skills. Proficient in HTML / CSS layouts. Ability to code designs in table-less CSS structure maintaining design integrity.

·         Exceptional User interface design skills, especially e-commerce based UI.

·         Knowledge of JavaScript, Ajax, PHP, XML-based web applications and programming as well as other web development languages and technologies; experience with Macromedia Flash and Scene 7 development a plus.

·         Great design skills. Able to quickly assess available assets and pull together high-end graphics. Able to take direction and to work independently when necessary. Capable of maintaining brand consistency across all fronts, from simple banners through the most complex sales initiatives.

·         Highly self-motivated and great time-management and project tracking skills. Good communications skills.  Must be able to hit deadlines and move projects through to completion.

·         Willingness to learn and implement new technologies as they arise.

Experience

·         Must have 5+ years in relevant online marketing/design positions.  Preference is for retail and e-commerce experience.

·         Must be able to manage projects within cross-functional teams preferred.

·         Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills

·         Multi-task oriented and well organized

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in design marketing or related fields. MBA is a plus.
