Web Developer (Games/Social Networking)

About the Job

Web Developer (Games)

Web developer for growing, profitable, funded social gaming
startup. My client is looking for a well-rounded web developer to help us
maintain existing games and build new ones.

All of us are gamers.  We love games.  We've
always wanted to work on games for a living.  Now we're doing it.
 Awesome.

*  You will be joining a very small team supporting a
game with a half million users and growing.

*  We're profitable.  Already.

*  Health, dental, and 401k.

*  Stock options.

*  Free food and drinks, including such healthy treats
as bagel bites, mountain dew, and microwavable chimichangas.  Nerd food.

*  Great location in downtown Sacramento with free parking and great food
within walking distance.

*  Oh, and you get a laptop.  15" MacBook Pro
or comparable PC laptop of your choice.

Your coworkers will be smart, interesting people who have,
between them, built several startups (successful and otherwise), written a
novel, directed music videos, run game fan sites, illustrated for Marvel Comics,
played in rock bands, and built a fully-functional MAME arcade machine.

Requirements:

*  Smart and gets things done.

*  Passion for what you do.

*  Computer science degree is cool and all but
real-world software development experience is way more important.

*  Strong grasp of design patterns, MVC application
development, and when not to use any of that stuff.

*  Must be a gamer.

*  Familiar with LAMP stack.

*  Strong grasp of at least two high-level languages,
preferably those used for web development (PHP, .NET, Java, Ruby, Python)

*  Intermediate skill with MySQL or comparable
technology.

*  Experience with version control.

*  Familiarity with Facebook application development is
a huge plus, but any good developer can learn that stuff anyway.

You must include a cover letter with your resume submittal,
in your cover letter; make sure to answer these questions:

*  What are your favorite games and why?

*  What games are you playing right now?

*  What's the most interesting technical project you've
worked on in your own time?

Emails with no cover letter will be deleted immediately, Send the resume and cover letter to-
