Area Overview:
As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for supporting the development of online courses, tools and applications with the Federal Reserve System.

Job Responsibilities:
• Build sophisticated applications and web environments for internal clients that involve the use of highly complex concepts and programming techniques.

• Use JavaScript, server-side scripting languages (Cold Fusion) and Flash to support course and tool development.

• Proactively communicate with internal clients to receive guidance on the type of software to use for projects and the approach to take in building pages and databases in order to ensure work is consistent with team standards.

• Troubleshoot complex business problems by applying object-oriented programming techniques in a timely manner.

• Perform maintenance on locally developed courses, tools, and applications.

• Assist in the testing and implementation of online courses and tools.

• Learn new software skills as needed for the development of applications due to the constantly changing field of technology.

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems / Management Information Systems or equivalent discipline.

• 3+ years of recent experience in web development.

• 2 years of experience in SQL.

• 2 years of experience in JavaScript.

• 2 years of experience in Server-side Scripting languages (i.e., ColdFusion).

• Additional experience required in HTML, XML, XSLT, AJAX, MySQL, Perl and Flash.

• Ability to effectively work with a team of people in a fast-paced environment.

• Communicate effectively in both oral and written format.

• Travel approximately 5% per year.
