Web Developer (Ruby on Rails)

What Will This Position Offer You?

You will build analytical applications to support the USG in the Global War on Terrorism. You will solve hard problems surrounding the processing, analyzing and visualization of data from disparate systems. You will work on a team of motivated and intelligent engineers solving important problems for our country.

We are seeking a software developer with proven experience providing working mission applications to users. This developer must have Ruby on Rails development skills and a well rounded stable of other technical skills that help solve problems. The developer must have experience with multiple programming languages and the ability to pick up new technologies as needed. The developer must have strong verbal and written communication skills to operate in the team environment and communicate with the customer and team.

Position Requirements:

We are looking for developers with current Ruby on Rails development experience in building web based applications.

In addition, candidates with experience in some of the following areas would be desirable:

Spring/Struts (or other web MVC frameworks)
Hibernate (or other persistence frameworks)
Web Services
SQL
AJAX
ExtJS
Oracle
SQL Server
XML
Subversion
Scrum practices

A completed Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) and five to seven years of related hands-on technical experience is needed.
