Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION
To oversee the strategy, planning, investment, business integration, and execution of all web assets associated with and subsidiary companies on a global basis. Inclusive of, but not restricted to: web site development, creative, development, content, and maintenance, strategic business implications, e-commerce, interactive marketing, and management of internal and external resources.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive web strategic planning efforts and execution planning corporately as well as with individual Kohler businesses.
Manage teams of internal and external web designers, developers, project managers, and content specialists.
Responsible for ensuring sites' look/feel, navigation, and product selection parallel the brand requirements and equity for each business.
Monitor external trends and world-class benchmarks and apply to Kohler strategies as appropriate.
Collaborate with and evaluate internal and external IT and e-business support of corporate web initiatives.
Ensure integration of web activity with other offline marketing, channel, and communications initiatives such as events, national advertising, integrated marketing promotions, and showroom/retail efforts.
Enhance and report on key web performance indicators as they apply to major business performance measures and affect overall communications investments and success.
Provide monthly project reporting and semi-annual KPI reporting to executive management corporately and by business segment.
Assist in the development and execution of ecommerce strategies.
Provide ROI information on an annual basis for all major web investments.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Reports to Director-Brand Communications.
Supervisory responsibility - directly supervises 5 exempt associates.
Works closely with internal communications services teams to ensure project integration.
Work collaboratively with Creative Brand Strategist, business brand marketing teams, and e-business IT teams on cross-functional basis.
Works closely with video production team and external video resources.
Gains outside perspectives through external agencies on a global scale.
Utilizes external design and web benchmarks to gauge success of sites.
Manages external design agencies, global web partners, and subject matter experts when necessary to achieve project goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of Bachelor Degree from liberal arts, communications, marketing or design program at leading university. Masters Degree preferred.
Minimum 15 years experience in advertising/communications management specializing in web development, design, and strategy at an agency, consultant, or corporate level.
Varied experience in client type or interactive applications.
Solid creative judgment and ability to think strategically.
