Job Description

Scottrade, Inc has a Web Development Manager position available in St. Louis, MO. Relocation is an option.The main purpose of this position is to take responsibility for all activities related to software development. This person must be recognized as an application technology leader, possess the managerial skills required to support the enterprise solutions, and have an in-depth knowledge of multi team integration. The Development Manager will provide leadership and influence in the development of Scottrade systems and has accountability for the performance and results of one or more application team(s), staff allocation and direction, and the supervision of team members.

Responsibilities: 

• Works  with the Application Architects and Project Managers on strategic and tactical projects and facilitates overall coordination, status reporting and stability of projects.


• Works with Project Managers and QA on resource leveling requirements.


• Participates in enhancement, issue, and project prioritization with PMO.


• Attends various IS related meetings with Change Management, PMO, and other project teams.



• Develops and maintains effective partnerships with Scottrade product development and business teams in order to understand and anticipate their needs, the business environment, other challenges and opportunities.Schedules and facilitates appropriate team meetings and periodic code reviews.


• Monitors production issues on an ad hoc basis to maintain understanding of product stability and assess issue trends.


• Coaches and develops software developers and supervisors and coordinates training within the team. 

Recruits, interviews, and hires additional development staff  and performs HR processes including quarterly and yearly reviews.

Experience:

• 5+ years of custom development management exerience required.


• 3+ years of customer service experience required.  


• Proficiency in Object Oriented Programming using C#, ASP.net and/or Java.


• Proficiency with SQL and/or Oracle databases.


• Proficiency with application communication API's including JMS and COM.


• Familiarity with trading systems or financial services preferred.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
