One of North America's largest and most diverse Financial Services companies has a contract position available for a Web Engineer with strong Weblogic skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Web Engineer:


  1. Implements the resolution of complex technical problems involving creation of web sites and eCommerce applications, as well as their integration into the bank's existing computer systems.
  2. Provides senior-level Technical Support to Web Developers.
  3. Installs new hardware and software.
  4. Upgrades and maintains the systems that employ scalable, advanced technologies and methods to integrate web systems with existing systems, enabling the creation of new web enterprises or expanding existing business onto the Web.
  5. Develops and implements Web Systems Support Applications Infrastructure for eCommerce, web-based Customer Support and web interfaces to databases.
  6. Monitors and gathers:


    • Performance statistics to assist in determining hardware requirements.
    • Communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets.


  7. May provide guidance to less experienced staff.

    Our Client is one of North America's largest and most diverse Financial Services companies, with more than 11,000 stores, over 12,000 ATMs, the Internet and other distribution channels across North America and internationally. They are a diversified Financial Services company providing banking insurance, investments, mortgage and consumer finance. Their headquarters is in San Francisco.


This is an estimated 6-12 month contract position, through Volt Workforce Solutions - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in Raleigh, NC. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies in the Southeast.



Requirements:

Required Skills for this Web Engineer position include the following:


  • 7-10 years of technical background and 3-5 years directly related to BEA Weblogic
  • 3+ years of experience with the following applications:


    • J2EE Applications and Middleware on primarily the Unix/Linux platform
    • Weblogic 8.x/9.x/10.x
    • SunOne Web Servers
    • Wily Intrascope
    • Siteminder Netegrity


  • Production support experience in a critical environment
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple groups to resolve complex issues
  • Understanding of multi-tier environments
  • Strong WebLogic Administration skill with expertise in doing the following with applications:


    • Installation
    • Configuration
    • Tuning
    • Deploying


  • Experience with WebLogic Versions 8.x 9.x & 10.x
  • Experience in configuring WebLogic Servers in a Cluster solution for High Availability, Load balancing and Fail Over support
  • Knowledge of Web Security tools; i.e. LDAP Server, SSL Certificates
  • Experience in profiling Java applications using tools such as:


    • Jprobe
    • OptimizeIT


  • Troubleshooting experience with a WebLogic Server application in a J2EE context
  • Expert knowledge of distributed systems and the support of highly-distributed deployment J2EE servers
  • Expert experience in WLST, Jython and ANT scripting to automate and monitor the WebLogic routine tasks
  • Linux (Red Hat) and Solaris experience
  • Good working knowledge of Monitoring Tools such as Introscope, HP OPENVIEW, BMC Patrol
  • Experience in Networking, TCP/IP, Ethernet, DNS, DHCP
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and client partnering skills required (must be able to be understood by others)
  • Experience working in a high-pressure, Enterprise-class environment preferred
  • Experience with HTTPS servers such as Iplanet, Sunone and Apache
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug problems with HTTP servers
  • Experience with monitoring and integrating application with Wily Intrascope


Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of the following products preferred, besides needing to have Weblogic experience:


  • Websphere 5.x & 6.x
  • MQ Series
  • NDM (Connect Direct)
  • Autosys
  • Webmethods
  • SunOne Web Server
  • Siteminder Netegrity
  • Platform and Skill Set Expertise in Middleware and WebLogic
