SageQuest has an immediate need for a Web Services Developer to manage the design and development of web services for their award winning web application suite.  This role will be responsible for the in-house development of web service offerings for consumption by SageQuest customers and integration partners.  This includes ASMX, WCF and push integrations, as well as the consumption of services provided by our customers and partners.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Web Services Developer's role is to develop and maintain the SageQuest web services / integration products as well as to provide design feedback to the product team where insight into strategies to make the product more useful and usable will be beneficial.  The Web Services Developer will additionally be responsible for product redundancy and scalability as well as the maintenance of sandbox development environments used by our customers and partners.

This individual will communicate with customers and partners to assist in their development using the SageQuest web services offerings.  Proven communications skills, problem-solving skills, knowledge of best practices and experience designing and maintaining mission critical systems are required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Interface design and data mapping.

·         Drive technical analysis, design and development of complex information services leveraging current and emerging technologies.

·         Development of technical specification and lead or participate in design coding and security reviews.

·         Coding practices to promote code reusability, modularity, security, privacy and usability.

·         Develop Proof of Concepts / prototypes as necessary.

·         Maintain technical documentation and SDK’s of applicable services.

·         Primary support contact for partner developers.

·         Sales support / evangelism as needed.

·         Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• BA / BS degree (preferably in CS, MIS or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  
• A minimum of 3 years commercial experience with applications architecting and designing & developing distributed systems with demonstrated experience with .NET Framework (2.0 and 3.0) using Web Services, C#, XSD, XML/XSLT, and SOAP/HTTP.
  
• Extensive experience in developing web services using Visual Studio.
  
• Extensive experience in debugging and tuning web services at the transport layer.
  
• Experience with developing autonomous services within an SOA framework.
  
• Experience with XML/XSLT transformations, and developing .NET services that leverage XML data structures.
  
• Strong understanding of .NET technologies in particular WCF and WCF Service/C#, Windows Services and WWF.
  
• Good understanding of design patterns.
  
• Good understanding of enterprise technologies such as security, network, databases, data/cluster storage, integration and application technologies for distributed systems.
  
• Working experience with Security strategies for .NET Authentication and Authorization.
  
• Ability to quickly understand the overall business strategy, analyze business processes and develop technical solutions to support the enterprise business strategy.
  
• Professional experience working within an Agile development methodology, preferably Scrum.
  
• Professional experience writing unit tests and conducting load testing.
