Introduction
Tomoye Community Software is looking to hire a Web UI Developer/ Designer to join its team of customer service engineers. Come and join our team to service some of the most innovative organizations in the world, implementing social software in the enterprise.
Tomoye delivers an out-of-the-box social software application, but in many cases, customers look to improve the usability of the application by tailoring it specifically to their organizational culture. In other cases, customers look to improve the look of new features built on a custom basis for them. This position is to deliver on both of the above.
This position is for someone working remote to Tomoye (offices in Canada) with the ability to do one day a week on site at West Point Military Academy in NY state.
Specific tasks:
- Regularly consult and take direction directly from customers regarding UI improvements and design
- Consult and survey application users to determine limitations and ideas for user experience improvement
- Take user and client requirements and turn them into design strategies, approaches and mock-ups
- Implement these approaches and innovations on Tomoye’s platform using CSS, HTML, Ajax, JavaScript and others as required
- Leverage Tomoye’s software into well thought-out designs and themes for our client
Skills
- Proven ability to conduct usability tests and walkthroughs
- Personable and able to discuss ideas and strategies with clients and users
- Proficient in the use of design software such as Photoshop to create mock-ups and designs to be implemented
- Proficient in the use of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript (required) to implement the created designs
- ASP .NET 3.5, C# development optional
- Military background or experience preferred
- Ability to work independently
