This position requires the design and development of user interfaces that support various projects as well as Internet applications.  The software developed will explore a range of Internet applications and the developer will support the transfer of technology brought to industry on findings.

Design and develop web application software prototypes supporting

-          new collaborative filtering and social networking applications

-          new types of Internet shopping and advertising

-          data collection using Mechanical Turk web survey tool - Amazon

User interface design, implementation and support:

-          develop graphical user interfaces for applications

-          develop new blogging and related Web 2.0 interfaces user interaction / workflow design for distributed data collection

Required Skills:  Ruby on Rails or equivalent, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL and web server administration. Strong troubleshooting, debugging and problem solving skills.  Must be self-motivated, inquisitive, and team oriented; strong analytical, creative, and design skills.

Preferred Skills:  Java, C++, Apache, MySQL, Flash, Optimizing websites for mobile and iPhone.  Graphic design, Photoshop/Illustrator skills.  Good mathematical background in probability, statistics and linear algebra.  Experience with machine learning methods.
