Web UX Designer
Job Duties:
The Web Designer is responsible for the visual design, layout, interface, usability, and graphic production for web-based products within CMC. . The Web Designer works closely with site owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and reach appropriate design decisions.
Experience Required:
- Create design prototypes, including creating and manipulating graphic design elements, CSS layouts, and layout of content, data objects, and controls for CMC web applications.
- Ensure that the layout of the content is accessible and logical; recommend improvements if necessary.
- Liaising with business analysts, developers and clients to discuss ideas for the layout and organization of the application, the type of colors or images to use, and other matters concerning overall graphic design, presentation, and overall user experience.
- Maintain the overall design and front-end display for the CMC web applications.
- Evangelize User-Centered Design concepts and promote a culture of creativity.
- Stay current on industry trends and competitor's practices.
- Research and recommend new techniques in user interface design.
Education/ Key Skills:
- Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, and CSS
- Must be proficient in current HTML standards as adopted by the W3C and remain current with evolving standards, trends, and best practices in web design.
- Ability to optimize graphics and layouts for online viewing.
- Ability to author web pages in combination of codes, such as HTML and XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, or use design tools such as Expression Blend.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, DHTML, or other methods of implementing dynamic content is a plus.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Master Pages is a big plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint Product and the familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint CSS and related elements is a big plus.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Designer is a big plus.
