Web User Interface Designer
About the Job
We are looking for a talented Web User Interface Designer. The ideal candidate enjoys designing and implementing intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for the web.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the direct marketing group with creation of user interface specs Interfaces must satisfy customer requirements, be clean, easy to navigate, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Converting mock ups to code that is:
- clean and handcrafted (no FrontPage/Dreamweaver!)
- compatible across major browsers including IE6/7, Firefox, and Safari
- agile and well-planned to permit continual, fast, and effortless tweaking during the development phase
- scalable to allow for future additions and modifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of HTML 4.0/XHTML 1.0, CSS 2.1+, DHTML, JavaScript, XML, and W3C DOM. (5+ years)
- Past experience building user interfaces for medium to large sites and web applications. (3+ years)
- Graphic design experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. (3+ years)
- Experience with Windows XP and UNIX environments. (3+ years)
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment under sensitive deadlines.
- Possess organizational and initiative skills, detail-oriented, and a passion to learn and implement today's evolving web-based solutions.
Recommended:
- Well-developed portfolio of proven, client-facing work.
- Knowledge and experience with AJAX and Web 2.0 technologies (e.g. JSON, Prototype, Scriptaculous, Mootools, jQuery, etc.)
- Ability to write standards-based code that validates (HTML/CSS/508).
