Uline seeks a WebSphere Engineer at its Corporate Headquarters in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin (just over the IL / WI state line).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recommend changes to improve performance / stability and accommodate application designs.
• Configure / tune caching, DRS, thread pooling and JVM heaps.
• Configure / tune J2C resource adapters, connection factories and MDB activation specifications.
• Coordinate performance testing of major software releases.
• Advanced investigation and resolution of all application and environment issues for 24/7 mission critical applications utilizing IBM tools.
• Fully configure and utilize Java Application Performance Monitoring products for troubleshooting, reporting, capacity planning and trending.
• Take part in weekly on-call rotation to provide 24/7 technical support.
• Work with Enterprise Architecture team in planning and designing optimum configurations for Java applications running on WebSphere.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5 + years solid WebSphere System Management and Architecture experience managing mission critical 24/7 applications.
• Expertise in WebSphere 6.1 and 7.x ND and familiarity with AIX, Unix, Linux, Solaris or other Unix type operating systems.
• Thorough understanding of WebSphere Service Integration Bus and Dynacache use / configurations.
• Experience with configuration and use of Java Application Performance Monitoring tools.
• Working knowledge and experience on AS400, DB2 and SQL Server 2000 a plus.
