OVERVIEW:   
Working within the entire Barefoot Books team and community, this
position oversees the development and management of the Barefoot Books web
experience.  This individual will be
responsible for the day-to-day performance and functionality of the recently
launched Barefoot Books website.  This
person will work with both internal and external web development resources to
improve and enhance all aspects of Barefoot Books online presence.  In addition this person will help to
translate business goals into actionable technology roadmaps and collaborate
with our customer service team to provide high level technical support for our
customers.



 



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Be
    the manager and technical lead for developing and managing the company's web
    presence
  • Act
    as a key thought partner to business leads to ensure the appropriate
    development and execution of a robust technology roadmap
  • Write
    code - fast, clean, extensible
  • Mentor
    and lead other developers
  • Manage
    internal business infrastructure and systems













JOB
REQUIREMENTS:



  • 10+
    years of web development on increasingly harder problems, both in technical
    challenge and in scale
  • 5+
    years of PHP at a senior level, with demonstrated experience building complex
    web apps
  • 5+
    years developing on the LAMP stack
  • Solid
    knowledge of Javascript & CSS, with experience building precisely-designed
    sites
  • Experience
    working with internal development and product teams, balancing requirements,
    etc.
  • Ability
    to communicate to all levels of users, strong problem solving skills, adaptable
    and proactive
  • Experience
    working with fast-moving organizations.
  • Web
    technologies: HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, XML
  • Working
    knowledge of Object orientated design and programming
  • Knowledge
    of Web 2.0 technologies and tools
  • Database
    technology: MySQL
  • Helpful
    to have experience with Zend Framework, jQuery, Web Services (SOAP)
