1. Job Title: Welding Foreman
2. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, communicating job expectations and priorities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
o Operates equipment safely and uses safe work habits while performing job function
o Assigns work according to priorities
o Monitors performance of employees that he supervises.
o Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
o Clamps, holds, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolts component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
o Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas metal arc, and flux-cored arc, plasma arc, aluminum welding, and stick welding.
o Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
o Will lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembling to ensure the finished assembly will match the drawing and meet customer’s specifications
o Create temporary custom jigs as needed throughout the assembly process to ensure quality of parts as they are assembled.
o Uses calibrated measuring tools to verify assemblies are made to the drawing and within tolerances to ensure conformance with customer’s specifications
o Performs maintenance when required
o Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
3. Qualifications:
o Must be able to weld using gas metal arc, and flux-cored arc, plasma arc, aluminum welding, and stick welding. Experience in Tig welding is a plus.
o Must understand proper use of hand tools and calibrated measuring tools
o Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.
o Must be able to stand up to 90% of the day.
o Must be able to work in unheated or non-air conditioned areas.
o Must be able to read blueprints.
