Windows Administrator / Network Administrator

 

 

Location- Shell Puget Sound Refinery -Fidalgo Island, Wa.

Position- 4 month Contract possible extensions

Project is is based around upgrades at Shell Puget Sound Refinery, which includes:

1-Patches

2-Anti Virus (Most is Symantec (Norton's) AntiVirus and some is McAfee AntiVirus)

3 Security Policies

 

This work will focus on upgrading a global Oil & Gas company’s servers in its plants and refineries in various cities across the US. 

 

At least 5 years of overall IT experience with 3-4 years of experience needed as a Systems Administrator for Windows 2000 and 2003 Servers in a multi-server, enterprise environment.

 

Required System Administrator experience includes:

 

  • Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows 2000 / 2003 Server OS’s on servers along with patches and upgrades
  • Working with Active Directory in an enterprise environment
  • Installation and configuration of server-based applications and utilities including patches and upgrades – specifically, Symantec/Norton and/or McAfee Antivirus software
  • Managing Security Policies
  • Pushing antivirus updates out from the servers to the desktops.
  • Knowledge of WINS, DNS, and DHCP
  • General server hardware knowledge with the ability to build, upgrade, install, and troubleshoot enterprise level, rack mounted servers.
  • Monitoring and supporting server performance
  • Managing and supporting local Exchange servers
  • General networking hardware knowledge

Soft skills required:

 

  • Good communication skills to coordinate with site’s IT management for server maintenance
  • Self motivation with the ability to work independently and with other team members
  • Good organizational an planning skills

 Preferred Experience / Skills that would be a plus:

 

  • Knowledge of other platforms - UNIX, Linux, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft ISA or Proxy Server
  • Knowledge of desktop hardware and software a
  • Knowledge of VPN, remote access
  • Any Microsoft or Cisco certifications such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP
  • Any secondary education
