Windows Systems Engineer

Description

To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment.  This role requires excellent communication skills, both with team members and business contacts at different levels. This role will develop and implement procedures for ensuring proactive maintenance of the Windows environment. In addition, the successful Windows Systems Engineer must be able to work with minimal or no supervision on operational support as well as various projects.  This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent knowledge managing, deploying and configuring Microsoft Operations Manager and Systems Center Operations Manager.
• Excellent knowledge of monitoring and troubleshooting technologies and methods.
• Excellent knowledge of HP ProLiant Intel based server hardware and rack deployment
• Excellent knowledge of Windows 2003/2003 R2/2008 server and client technologies
• Enterprise knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange 2003/2007
• Excellent knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, SMTP, NAT and network related technologies such as LAN/WAN topologies, transports and routing.
• Excellent knowledge of system and network management tool concepts
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Accomplishes task with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

• 4-6 years experience in a large Data Center Environment
• Experience managing more than 100 servers in a Data Center Environment
• Experience supporting servers in a LAN/WAN environment
• Experience supporting HP servers
• ITIL operational knowledge and experience
• One of the following certifications is required:


• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
• MCITP: Server Administrator
• MCITP: Enterprise Administrator
