Work Coordinator / Substation

OCCUPATION:

    Key Accountabilities:

  •   Create, prioritize and manage daily work crew schedules.

·         Assign and direct work readiness activities

·         Facilitate, track, and review the progress of work. Assign constructability requirements to the Performance Supervisor.

·         Oversee status of ongoing and upcoming work.

·         Participate in the weekly construction meeting as a decision maker for week 0 resource strategies.

·         Advise on job readiness and resource availability, such as training, absences, and vehicle/equipment.

·         Ensure that work packages are compiled and assigned.

·         Oversee the coordination of assigned work between EDO functions.

·         Provide direction to Performance Supervisor regarding daily and weekly activities including the assignment of pre-job site inspections.

·         Prepare and coordinate contractor/vendor requirements, switching requests, Dig-safes (mark-outs), flagging/police detail requests, and remove other barriers to job scheduling.

·         Manage opportunities for efficiencies.

·         Oversee points of contacts for internal customers and Order Fulfillment, including planned outage scheduling.

·         Coordinate the scheduling of specialized equipment and tools.

·         Coordinate with Materials Management/vendors to ensure material availability.

·         Create confirming work request templates.

·         Review and provide direction on overtime, job site reporting, and crew roving requirements.

·         Participate in emergency restoration activities as required.

·         Ability to work from alternate locations to provide coverage as necessary.

Knowledge and Experience:

        Demonstrate personal accountability for delivering performance excellence.

·         Possess working knowledge of OH/UG maintenance and construction practices, OSHA requirements, National Grid safety rules, EOPs, and work methods.

·         Qualify for Clearance and Control EOP G014 to coordinate and initiate switching applications.

·         Exhibit knowledge of OH/UG vehicles, tools, and equipment.

·         Understand local labor agreements and geographical constraints.

·         Prove proficient computer skills in STORMS, GIS, I-Scheduler, PeopleSoft, EMS, TOA, RCC Data, Track star, MS Office applications, and the ERP system as developed.

·         Display well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interface and communicate with people at all levels across organizational boundaries.

·         Possess an understanding of corporate finance and budgeting practices.

·         Apply creative problem-solving skills in a team environment.

Qualifications:

·                Associate’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.

·                Five years of broad experience with distribution operations preferred.
