Through Guarantee Insurance Company we provide workers' compensation alternative market risk transfer solutions and traditional workers' compensation insurance.  GIC is licensed to write workers' compensation insurance in 25 States and the District of Columbia. GIC has offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Sarasota, and Orlando, Florida, and in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Claims Supervisor plans and coordinates the activities of the claims adjuster team.  Supervises unit activity, development and ensures satisfactory and compliant delivery of claims services/products.  May handle a reduced caseload.

§         Supervises a workers’ compensation claims team consisting of medical only and lost time adjusters and support staff.

§         Partners with case management, loss control and underwriting to resolve, control and avoid losses.

§         Drives performance and development of staff.  Activities may include coaching, performance reviews, providing training and development opportunities, and disciplinary action.

§         Assures adequate staffing levels to meet customer expectations and regulatory deadlines.

§         Promotes aggressive service approach to all issues.

§         Promotes continuing education and ensures licensing of staff is current.

§         Investigates, evaluates and settles claims, applying technical knowledge and human relations skills to effect fair and prompt disposal of cases and to contribute to a reduced loss ratio.

§         Maintains reports for department.

§         Oversees audit, quality control and compliance to company procedures and regulatory agencies.

Education/Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred.
• Five to seven years experience in claims; 1-2 years supervisor or lead experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Individual should be proficient using Internet software, and Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Adjusters License required where indicated.
