Participate in team decisions regarding any changes to procedures based on current DWC Statute or internal requirements
Prepare and present reports for clients and internal review panels
Resolve WC claims within the documented service guidelines and procedures for each client
Participate in claims and procedural training sessions for team members
Create and maintain positive working relationships with clients, DWC and other governing authorities, vendors, subcontractors and consultants
Participate in continuing education courses and/or seminars in adherence to licensing requirements as well as maintain a high degree of technical knowledge regarding the current law and practices governing claims adjustments
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form
Hold a Workers' Compensation License (03); Multi-lines License (08) preferred
3-4 years of relevant claims adjusting experience including thorough understanding of claim reserving procedures
Proven understanding of the Texas Workers Compensation Act, rules promulgated by the Workers' Compensation Commission and case law
Proficient use of medical and legal terminology
Proficient in MS Office
Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
