Intellectual Ventures is seeking bright and motivated high performers to apply for a part time, temporary role with our fast growing company.  You will be a key contributor as we look for ways to cultivate and enhance our unique workplace culture through programs, events, and other innovative employee engagement activities and mechanisms.  At the heart of this role is the challenge of scaling our company while growing and enriching our culture.

Founded in 2000, IV’s business model centers on creating, acquiring and licensing pure invention in a variety of technology areas. IV plans to commercialize inventions through licensing, spin-offs, joint ventures and industry partnerships.

The role will be comprised of:

  • Flexible work hours with an initial target commitment of 10-15 hours per week.
  • On-the-job experience, including working with your direct manager, colleagues in your department, support functions, and internal/external partners.
  • Multiple projects related to enhancing the workplace experience at IV, improving workplace community and culture, and similar environmental facets of “life at work”
  • Informal activities to familiarize yourself with IV.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing project plans, cost models, and executing small to medium scale projects in a variety of disciplines.
  • Participating in event and employee function planning
  • Driving strategies to improve social networking and community inside of Intellectual Ventures
  • Making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations
  • Implementing ways to measure and quantify less tangible components of ROI on employee-based programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates should be enrolled in an MBA or undergraduate program
  • Ability to execute against project deliverables on time and on budget is required
  • General project management skills are required
  • Problem solving skills and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, highly unstructured environment
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined with “can-do” attitude
  • Professional presence with integrity and leadership skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
