Zone Recruiting Manager
Potbelly Sandwich Works is continuting its growth across the country. We are looking for a Zone Recruiting Manager who will provide support to the Potbelly stores in the Chicagoland Zone and to the Zone Human Resource Manager through the implementation and coordination of all company recruitment and bench building programs. He or she will develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to help attract and retain top talent within the organization both internally and externally using Potbelly Best Practices and Values. The Recruiting Manager will play an active role in supporting District Managers in on boarding new Managers, Assistant Store Managers, and Shift Leaders; and help support the store management team in the planning effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain World Class Associates.
Responsibilities
- Manage all recruiting efforts for an assigned Potbelly markets to include: placing recruitment advertising, reviewing resumes, screening and interviewing applicants, conducting and coordinating follow-up interviews, handling reference checks, and negotiating, preparing, and presenting offers.
- Coordinating successful new hires transitions and following up to ensure each had a successful on boarding and training process.
- Conducts exit interviews.
- Monitor staffing levels and support the Zone HRM with preparing reports to understand trends and anticipate upcoming challenges. Develop bench marks in the areas of internal bench development and tracking strategies, ideal staffing by store, district and zone, diversity, unemployment, wages, and other relevant material that affects Zone staffing.
- Create effective strategies to source candidates in a timely manner by communicating effectively with the field on a regular basis and determine the appropriate websites for Zone specific (and position specific) postings.
- Network and source across various industries to recruit passive and active candidates, including college job fairs, industry job fairs, recruiting events, cold calling competitors in each market place, and attending functions designed for networking and/or professional development.
- Coordination of recruitment activity for New Store Openings including: posting positions, assist in recruiting internal candidates, coordinating job fairs to staff associate level, and conducting Manager job fairs prior to the projected opening.
- Support Store Management with posting of ads as needed and mentor them to create a sourcing strategy as requested.
- Handle all field and candidate inquiries to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution
- Assist the Director of Recruitment in developing and maintaining processes and tools to support the recruitment best practices, and lead the calibration and strategic analysis to ensure all guidelines are efficient and effective
- Support the Zone HRM in developing and maintaining processes and tools to support the internal promotions process, including the development, communication, and participation of Open House and Round Robins.
- Develop fiscal year budgets, and maintain candidate tracking to optimize use of company resources and measurements of the recruitment process
- Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations related to the hiring process
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years in management recruiting, preferably in the restaurant or retail industry although we’ll look at other industries, too; Corporate or Executive Search experience.
- A self motivated and results-driven focus with the ability to recruit passive candidates through networking and creative sourcing.
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of management, handle confidential information with integrity, exercise strong presentation skills, motivate others, apply strong organizational skills, has a good sense of humor, a positive attitude and represents the Potbelly brand effectively.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook
- BA or BS degree required.
