Under general direction of the Senior Director, Client Services and other general Senior Management, the Assistant Director, Account Group Supervisor helps maintain and grow strong client relationships with assigned brands, contributes to product payer strategy development, develops and drives innovative pull-through initiatives, works with internal teams to ensure the quality of deliverables and interactions with assigned clients, and ensures projects are completed on time and budget for assigned clients.



Technical Skills and Expertise

  • Implement and deliver on various project types potentially including:

  1. Brand planning engagements

  2. Value proposition creation (for client products to payers and providers)

  3. Message testing/payer market research

  4. Field force tools development and training (i.e., account manager tool kits)

  5. Sales aids (both payer and provider)

  6. Market segmentation analyses

  7. Interactive marketing / sales aids

  8. Reimbursement assessments

  9. Account strategy

  10. Market research including ad boards, focus groups and MCN events

  11. Contracting strategy

  12. Commercialization strategy

  13. Pricing
  • Serve as a main client point of contact

  • Work collaboratively with market research team, managed markets team, reimbursement team, creative team, and health outcomes/scientific team to produce client deliverables

  • Account Management

    • Helps coordinate activities for assigned client accounts

    • Grows existing client relationship

    • Coordinates with sales organization to develop new business opportunities in assigned accounts

    • Develop project briefs on all projects and ensures team and client alignment with the brief

    • Act as lead on project management oversight, providing clear guidance on timelines, budgets, and project management requirements

    • Serves as extension of brand team and build rapport with key client contacts across departments for assigned brands/clients

    • Be onsite with client as needed to effectively manage the account and associated projects

    • Ensures that internal functional area experts understand the vision for the brand and deliver appropriate strategies and tactics

    • Works with procurement teams to ensure contracting with Xcenda is easy for key clients

    Business Development

    • Creates innovative business expansion

    • Contributes to proposal writing, contracting, client capabilities presentations, and pricing

    • Works with sales organization to establish goals for assigned accounts

    Financial Accountability

    • Manage project / account budget

    • Approves purchases, contracting, expenses, and may manage vendor relationships

    • Helps to allocate human and financial resources as appropriate to ensure objectives are accomplished

    Quality and Compliance

    • Overall responsibility for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of all services

    • Identifies areas for risk

    • Fosters proactive, continued quality improvement

    • Ensures and maintains highest integrity and honesty in all business activities

    Organizational Leadership

    • Responsible for corporate culture to include embracing and fostering company values

    • Supports company programs and initiatives

    • Represents the company to associates and the public

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in payer marketing within the pharmaceutical industry or a managed markets agency servicing the pharmaceutical industry.  BS/BA required, advanced degree preferred (PharmD, MBA)



    • Structured and well organized

    • Demonstrated success within the consulting environment or pharmaceutical industry

    • Significant knowledge base of managed markets, reimbursement, and/or health economics

    • Ability to interact with and influence clients so that business can be driven into the company

    • Interest and ability to “think outside the box”

    • Excellent writing skills as well as the ability to communicate complex material in presentations and discussions in a straightforward manner

    • Strong presentation skills for both internal and client communications

    • Strong interpersonal skills in order to develop sound, long-term client relationships and an ability to influence clients without being overbearing

    • Ability to work well in a dynamic, successful consulting firm, which maintains high quality standards and demands excellence

    • Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite tools

    • Willingness to travel to client sites (assume 50% of time)
