ACCOUNTING OPERATIONS LEADER
BROWN & BROWN of MASSACHUSETTS

 

Job Description

Candidate will lead the accounting functions for a branch office of a national publicly traded insurance agency.  This position will be responsible for all accounting activities including monthly journal entries, general ledger analysis, and preparation of financial statements, bank reconciliation, annual budgeting, and internal controls.  The Accounting & Operations Leader maintains and promotes the positive environment of the office while making sure Brown & Brown’s guidelines and processes are met.  In addition to accounting responsibilities they will also have Human Resource and Information Technology responsibilities.  HR responsibilities include bi-weekly payroll processing, new employee orientation, facilitating employee corrective actions, maintaining employee guidelines, and employee exit interviews.  All IT requests will be directed to the Accounting & Operations Leader.  IT responsibilities include servicing basic support needs for the office and assisting the office staff in solving problems with related IT needs, customization, or other support services.  For all items outside their ability, they will communicate and send support requests through the online ISR process for proper call management with Tampa-IT support team.  Understand existing company IT guidelines and apply where necessary.

 

 

Job Requirements

•Excellent written & verbal communication skills
•Computer skills must include intermediate to advanced Excel, as well as intermediate Word and Outlook
•Multi-tasking is a must
•Self-motivation and a “Get It Done" attitude
•Must possess a strong sense of urgency, demonstrate a willingness to hold yourself and others accountable, and be committed to achieving success
•Accounting degree required
•Knowledge of Applied/TAM and/or other Insurance Agency Software preferred
