HR Coordinator

About the Job

The HR Coordinator provides support and coordination to the Human Resources Director in all areas.  In particular, the Coordinator oversees administration of benefits, assists with recruiting, compensation and performance management.  The Coordinator manages the personnel files and the on and off boarding of employees.  Maintains confidentiality in all matters.  

Responsibilities: 
  • Oversees administration of all benefits, including invoices, enrollments, terminations, and answers questions as needed.
  • Coordinates annual open enrollment for benefits.
  • Provides support for recruiting, including:
    • Writes and updates job descriptions
    • Posts vacant positions on various websites
    • Reviews resumes
    • Schedules interviews
    • Oversees background checks
    • May conduct reference checks
  • Oversees and coordinates all aspects of onboarding and offboarding of employees and collaborates with necessary staff on this process.
  • Assists with compensation analysis as well as annual compensation letters.
  • Assists the Director with tracking of all HR information.
  • Assists the Director with reports and presentations.
  • Ensures personnel files are kept up to date.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all work.
  • Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree, in HR or related field.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on all necessary matters.
  • Expertise in Windows computing environment and of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Expertise in using SharePoint – or ability to quickly learn new technology and create processes for their use in an office environment.
  • Ability to organize and establish priorities, and meet deadlines while working on numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent collaboration and project management skills.
  • Customer service focus is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an effective team player.
  • Excellent communication and skills, both written and oral.   
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take initiative and ownership for a wide range of responsibilities.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
