About the Job

TITLE: ASE Technician ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The ASE Technician is responsible for productive diagnosis, repair, and replacement of both specialized and general automotive parts and accessories. An ASE Technician is expected to comply with company safety, loss prevention, and customer service programs as well as established policies and procedures and municipal, state, and federal regulations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations

Effectively explain technical information to customers, present and respond to questions from coworkers, trainers and supervisors

Calculate figures and amounts such as subtotals, totals, tax rates, ratios, and percentages

Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic and complex automotive problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited diagnostic standardization exists

Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Ability to successfully and accurately perform the following types of work (not limited to):

oNo Start Diagnosis

oMinor Engine Repair

oA/C Diagnosis and Repair

oHeating and Cooling Diagnosis and Repair

oDrive ability Diagnosis

oSteering and Suspension Diagnosis and Repair

oBrake Diagnosis and Repair

oExhaust System Diagnosis and Repair

oAir Induction / Fuel System Services

oFluid Exchanges

o4-Wheel Alignments

oTire Mounting and Balancing

2. Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

Current, valid driver's license issued in state of residence

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in 4 or more specialties and one IMACA or MACS certification for refrigerant handling and recovery

State Motor Vehicle Inspection License is required if store is located in a state that participates in vehicle safety and emission inspections and the facility is licensed to perform them
