Aspera Technical Product Manager - Software as a Service (SaaS)

The Technical Product Manager – Software as a Service (SaaS) position is a newly created role at Aspera. This position will have a tremendous influence on Aspera’s core transfer capabilities as they are incorporated into new web-based services that will expand Aspera’s business opportunities in the Cloud. This person will primarily be responsible for owning the offering, features, and capabilities of new services and planning and driving new products from inception, through release, and into a process of successful production refinement and improvement based on customer input, feedback from sales, and product analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive the creation of new services based on Aspera’s core capabilities in the Cloud

Proactively gather requirements and use cases (input from Customers, Sales Engineers, Technical Support, Sales, Product Management, and industry trends) ·

Assess and understand customer requirements to determine if Aspera software meets their needs and, if not, to develop use cases and feature requirements for Aspera software that address the customer needs

Be able to present and evangelize new customer requirements to the Aspera team

Assess and validate the technical design against the product requirements

Assess and validate User Interface (UI) design against the product requirements, user expectations, and comparative product market landscape

Advocate with other teams for features in related mobile, desktop, and core software products that will enable or improve service capabilities

Manage requests from customers coming through Technical Support and Sales Engineering

Participate in weekly meetings to track status of customer requirements and issues

Interface between Sales Engineering/Support and Engineering (Development, Quality Assurance (QA), Release)

Help manage communication with customers including informing customers of new releases and features and bug fixes that address their needs

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Basic knowledge in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for web-based services
  • Basic knowledge in Working knowledge of usage, provisioning, and account set up for popular Cloud service vendors
  • Basic knowledge in knowledge of the range of licensing patterns, consumption models, and subscription for web-based and cloud services
  • Basic knowledge in analytics, reporting, and usage tracking software and design patterns for web applications
  • Basic knowledge in balancing multiple projects at once and delivery of projects successfully and on time
  • At least 1 year experience in experience as a software engineer preferred, especially on web and SaaS products
  • At least 3 years experience in ignificant hands on experience in a software product management role
  • Basic knowledge in Demonstrated use of metrics and usage data analysis to generate new requirements and analyze defects for web applications running in production
  • Basic knowledge in Hands on experience with web applications, file-transfer technologies, backend systems
  • English: Fluent


Preferred
  • At least 6 months experience in Hands on experience with web applications, file-transfer technologies, backend systems
