API Technologies Corporation is a leading technology provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security technologies for critical and high-reliability applications, including aerospace, defense, industrial, medical, energy and communications. We have an exciting opportunity for an Assembler II (Laser Welding) located in our Hudson, NH facility.


The candidate in this position is responsible for constructing electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies by performing various standardized techniques and operations using simple hand and mechanical tools.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Prepares assembly area: Determines materials and machinery by reading work orders, following production drawings and/or receiving verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Verifies parts by comparing provided part with part description in work documentation.
  • Builds assemblies and subassemblies: Aligns components and parts in specified relationships to each other in fixtures and/or other handling devices, using various hand tools and mechanical devices.
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
  • Occasionally degreases parts at various stages of production using cleaning solutions and equipment.
  • Maintains record of work progress: Records results of job and/or problems with job in work documentation. Verifies quantity of lot by hand counting or weigh counting using standard scales.
  • May be required to perform basic test functions.
  • Periodically assists in other production areas at the discretion of the supervisor.


Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:


  • High School diploma or equivalent training/experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with wire bonding electronic assemblies and subassemblies
  • Manual dexterity; ability to Laser Weld; wedge bonding, and mechanical assembler experience using hand tools and soldering tools.
  • Basic reading and comprehension to understand work documentation; strong verbal communication skills
  • J-STD-001 experience/certification and/or IPC-A-610 certification a plus
