About the Job

Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: To perform thorough inspections and related tractor and body repairs while ensuring safety compliance with DOT requirements on equipment owned and/or operated by Swift Transportation in addition to Owner Operator equipment.



    1. Body / Chassis damage - Repair body damage on many different types of trucks owned and operated by Swift




    1. Complete repairs/replacements to meet Company/DOT specifications.




    1. Responsible for returning damaged equipment from accidents to pre-accident condition




    1. Interior cab repairs - repair and/or replacement equipment to comply with OEM and DOT requirements.




    1. DOT Inspections - Perform inspections on every unit that leaves the shop to ensure excellent quality work has been performed and the Company complies with all safety regulations.




    1. Perform recalls or service campaigns - Perform all recalls regulated by the Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) of the trucks to ensure safety, quality, and long life of the unit.




    1. May perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.




    1. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.






    1. Skills: Ability to perform any and all collision damage repairs, including mechanical repairs and fabrication




    1. Education: Freightliner certifications or equivalent




    1. Experience Required: 48 months body related experience in the transportation, heavy equipment or agriculture industry; double required experience may be substituted for high school diploma/GED. Graduation from an accredited Technical School preferred
