Business Administrator I

Under general direction, prepares cost reports showing actual to budget and the development of ETC’s and EACs. Prepare cost proposals for new contracts or modifications to current contracts. With senior administrators, works with Program Management and performs cost reporting and analysis to measure the program’s performance against budget (Earned Value). Assists in the development of integrated program schedules and budgets according to company and program requirements, analyzes variances and helps develop corrective action plans. Assists in the development of funding profiles, term liability and income statements.


Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.


Three to five years experience in the following: Monthly reporting of Indirect and direct cost, revenue, billings, orders, margin and EBIT, compared to budgets and Strategic Plan, Earned Value Management (including Scheduling ( MS Project ) and Cost Performance Reports ( Cobra ), Cost and Control systems ( Deltek Costpoint/Enterprise Planner),Pro-Pricer or other pricing systems


  • Microsoft Office skills with proficiency in Excel and MS Project. Will be trained on internal mainframe cost and accounting systems.
  • Requires an understanding of cost accounting principals, statistical methods, systematic analysis and estimating.
  • Must have basic understanding of Earned Value Management techniques and terminology.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret Clearance, which includes US Citizenship.
