Business Development Manager Microsoft Infrastructure
About the Job
Responsible for defining Business Unit strategy for Microsoft Infrastructure as a Service offering as part of the overall Hybrid Cloud and End-User Compute solutions team. Works with Industry Analysts and peer business development managers to research, define and validate Microsoft Cloud and EUC strategy. Participates in prospective client meetings as well as developing and maintaining sales content for use in business development activities. Supports the development of requirements for end-user automation for IaaS, PaaS, AaaS, DBaaS etc. Works on problems and possess great communication skills that are complemented by presence and judgment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Guides practice and field sales to effectively position Microsoft Cloud solutions and provide overall governance review and approval for new business opportunities. • Supports the building and maintenance of relationships with various EMC and Microsoft organizations to further influence and create issue resolution in order to facilitate viability of overall solution. • Responsible for defining market and Customer requirements and solution strategy. Works with Product Manager to decompose strategy into concrete engineering and services requirements. May participate in the business unit's lead qualification process by working with the Sales lead and pursuit team lead throughout the process. • Thoroughly understands and articulates EMC and Microsoft Cloud technical direction, capabilities and business solution to clients. Continuously improve knowledge of EMC capabilities its business partners, and competitors. May act as an aid in studying customer requirements; identify trends and present future opportunities to EMC leadership. • Ensures EMC's value proposition meets the customer's requirement and can be delivered within the proposed scope. May participate in responses to clients, such as financial or technical detail, and defines the services provided by supporting business units. • Participates in account and/industry analysis, problem resolution, and communications between client, Sales and EMC management. Participates in Sales support and business development projects as needed. Helps to identify, evaluate, recruit and manage resources to meet proposal budgets and cost projections. • May support the design, development and value-added offerings which will drive additional opportunities. Proactively provides input into the development of Global Practices policies, procedures, standards and strategies with local (Regional or Divisional) teams. • Travel required (25%+).
SKILLS • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years relevant experience. • Experience in managed services. • Experience in IT infrastructure. • IT sales experience including account planning and strategy desired. • Technical writing skills. • Project management skills. • Excellent communication skills. • Financial and analytical experience. • Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables.
