Business Process Manager
In this critical leadership and change management function, the Business Process Manager (BPM) is responsible for leading the identification and execution of operational and financial process improvement initiatives. The focus of the BPM effort is to design and implement improved operating models by defining the processes, anticipating outcomes, developing business intelligence, and determining key metrics that drive ownership, accountability, and high performance across the Company. The BPM works cross-functionally in a matrixed environment to execute these complex process improvement initiatives. This role reports to the Vice President, Business Finance and Reporting and is located in Plainview, NY.
•Responsible for the change management associated with implementing new processes and systems.
•Partner with Business Finance team to drive centralization and standardization of cost accounting, inventory, warranty and installation processes and reporting, which includes leveraging and improving SAP set up and configuration.
•Focus on automation of Finance work flows and operating procedures to reduce time spent compiling and organizing data related to closing, forecasting and budgeting activities.
•Lead and drive development and execution of implementation plan for a new integrated business planning and consolidation tool in SAP (BPC).
•Collaborative partner with Order Entry, Field Service, Tech Support, Supply Chain and Operations teams to better align, improve and standardize systems and processes.
•Participate in supporting new service reporting requirements and improving the book / bill submission and backlog reporting processes.
•Assist in the development and documentation of scalable Business Finance processes that can be integrated into businesses and companies acquired.
•Master data validation and the standardization of information used across the Company.
•Assist and participate in due diligence and SOX 404 compliance activities, as needed.
•Leverage, acquire and manage IT and system expertise as well as specialized skill sets needed to execute improvements and automation of work flows.
•Ensure deployment of common solutions across business and operating units across the Company.
•Drives process reengineering and improvement, reports execution against detailed plans, ensures timely completion of objectives.
•Manages execution against critical program milestones, inter-dependencies, risk components, progress communication, coordination, and collaboration across teams / commitments.
•Assess existing programs against end-to-end business requirements and/or policies, and identify and structure additional plans as necessary.
•Collaboratively challenge the status quo to create and implement new processes to maximize effectiveness and efficiencies and reduce risks.
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or relevant area, MBA preferred.
•Minimum 8 years of progressive experience, with at least four years leading process improvement initiatives.
•Demonstrated experience driving change and process reengineering initiatives and applying ISO, Lean, TQM, and/or Six Sigma tools or other process improvement methods in a capital equipment company or manufacturing environment.
•Advanced knowledge of accounting systems, preferably SAP with experience building business intelligence (BI) tools, metrics, and dashboards.
•Accomplished at leading project teams through life cycle of process improvement efforts, including scoping and business case design, control tools, and reporting.
•Capable of managing through conflict and influencing others through influence and advisement, as appropriate. Effective cross-functional leadership, managerial, and supervisory abilities.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Self-motivated, able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where adaptability is critical.
•Detail-oriented individual who can move along spectrum of strategic to tactical, driving execution along the way.
•Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
