National Spine & Pain CentersĀ©, the largest interventional pain management practice on the East Coast, is currently searching for a qualified andĀ take-charge Medical Assistant to support our Frederick office location. Our outstanding team of medical professionals demonstrates extraordinary diagnostic and therapeutic skill, encompassing both physiatry and anesthesiology, to provide patients with the most comprehensive approach available to pain management.

Our Medical Assistants work under the administrative supervision of the Office Manager, with clinical guidance and direction from the Physician. Successful candidates will be able to greet patients; relay telephone messages to the appropriate recipients; assist with procedures; and perform various other assigned clinical responsibilities, utilizing sterile and aseptic techniques. We are looking for Medical Assistants who recognize the impact intractable pain has on quality of life, and reflect an attentive, personalized approach to patient care.

To effectively meet the needs of our many patients, we require all Medical Assistants to possess, in addition to a high school diploma and a current CPR card, one or more of the following certifications: CMA, RMA, CNA, and/or EMT-B/1. Successful applicants must demonstrate basic office skills, as well as the aptitude to learn new software technology for patient registration, records, dictation, and transcriptions. Excellent patient care skills, the ability to take vital signs, knowledge of health care and medical terminology, and awareness of the legal implications of work and words in healthcare are also required. Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations, as well as one year of directly related experience, preferably in a group practice, is preferred.
