Aerojet Rocketdyne is hiring! We're looking for experienced Oracle Applications DBA's to be responsible for supporting the Oracle Applications for eBusiness Suite and other applications on Unix/Linux and ensuring their performance, availability and security.
This position will contribute directly to the development of new concepts and techniques as an emerging authority in the field. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Work closely with functional end users and develop team to support implemented Oracle Applications, Development Tools, and 3rd party solutions.
Work with Systems DBA and infrastructure team to coordinate upgrades, patches and resolve any cross functional issues.
Supports the development team for functional enhancements, trouble shooting and resolution.
Assists the Test and Infrastructure team to resolve any cross functional issues.
Develop applications Functional testing plans, in coordination with the development team and end users.
Plans and coordinates application/tools changes, installation of upgrades, patches and new versions, interacting with Systems DBA and Infrastructure teams.
Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance.
Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Development team and third parties as appropriate.
Mentor and provide leadership to the other Oracle Application DBA team members
Provide on-call support.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate technical discipline and at least ten (10) years directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Demonstrated Oracle Applications Database Administration (Oracle Applications 11i Implementations, Upgrades, Architecture, Performance Tuning preferred) experience required.
Expert in Oracle Applications R12.1 technical architecture.
Expert in Applications performance tuning and trouble shooting.
Strong Oracle forms/reports/patching skills.
Strong Oracle applications R12.1 application knowledge from a functional perspective.
Strong Oracle eBS experience in a RAC environment.
Should have experience supporting RICE (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, and Extensions) development team. Works with RICE team to determine system data management requirements, implements supporting databases and monitors performance.
Should have Multi-node implementation experience; applying patches, cloning, trouble-shooting concurrent managers, and trouble-shooting forms/reports issues, configuring load-balancing.
Should possess ability to identify and resolve performance issues with Oracle Applications technology stack.
Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service.
Strong Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast paced implementation environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Oracle Certification, preferably OCP
US Citizenship required due to ITAR requirements.
