Job Description:

Controls Engineer Opportunity. We currently have an opening for a Controls Engineer in Fort Wayne. Our goal is to promote the most qualified team member for the job.


Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Must have a working knowledge of automated assembly systems, a good understanding of the basic theory of industrial control systems applications, design, and operation including concepts of power distribution.
  • Capable of performing the following manufacturing engineering functions:
    • Tooling, process & layout design
    • Quality engineering
    • Ergonomics and safety
  • Ability to troubleshoot and program machine controls (Siemens – Step 7, Allen Bradley – Ladder Logic-STL & SCL, Siemen WinCC Hmi Development, AB Logix5000 PLC & Panelbuilder HMI S/W)
  • Strong project management skills – able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to support all shifts as required
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • 4 year technical degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7 years’ experience and demonstrated success as a Manufacturing/ Controls Engineer in an Automotive Manufacturing or Assembly facility
  • Experience in training others
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus
  • Plant startup experience desired
  • Fanuc RJ2 Robotic Programming is a plus
  • Cognex Vision and Keyence Vision is a plus
  • Electronics circuit board design or debug is a plus
  • Basic RF Fields, Antenna theory for TPM’s is a plus
  • SQL and Visual Basic net is a plus



  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Personal skills include ability to work well with others, team spirit, flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines and support business travel.
  • Microsoft Office tools experience required.
  • Experience with Phoenix PC Works, Inderbus, Devicenet, RS View, Control Logix. Traits/Values
