Cook Mission Community Hospital, a 145-bed acute care facility located in the San Fernando Valley, is currently searching for a Cook to join the Food and Nutritional Services Department. The Cook is accountable for all duties related to the preparation and service of meals to patients, visitors, physicians and for special events. The Cook is responsible for preparing large quantities of food while maintaining high standards of quality food production and assuring compliance with safety and sanitation.
Responsibilities include: Cooks regular and therapeutic meals for patients Prepares food for cafeteria, physicians and caterings Serves patients on the trayline and in the cafeteria Checks and records temperatures of food storage and prepared items Cleans and sanitizes work station and equipment
Requirements: Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently Ability to calculate quantity food production levels Maintain confidentiality, privacy and safety of patients, visitors, and staff at all times Must be available to work all shifts
Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent 2 years in quantity food production, health care facility experience a plus Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
