Serves as a project leader in the design, development, and production of online or print-based course materials and web content; Evaluates online course quality and recommends options for course improvement; Promotes an effective relationship between course objectives and learner assessment.; Collaborates and consults with faculty on instructional design issues, strategies and needs; Provides guidance on the effective use of web-based resources, multimedia technologies, and instructional software systems to improve teaching online; Designs and supervises the production of learning resources utilizing a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation technologies to support curriculum offerings; Keeps abreast of technological advances and makes recommendations for multimedia software for purchase and use; Develops workshops and other training materials for faculty in support of their online teaching and learning efforts; Effectively manages multiple projects and competing commitments with minimal supervision; Works collaboratively in a team environment; Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills; Prepares and produces curriculum materials for new and revised courses according to established formats and guidelines. (This includes writing, copyediting, proofing, formatting, and document verification); Reviews course materials for accuracy and consistent application of policy, process, and procedures; Updates existing course materials and completes correction documentation; Composes correspondence to students and faculty relating to changes in course materials; Maintains course checklists and documentation.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; Two years of experience providing higher education faculty with instructional design and educational technology support for hybrid and online learning environments and course development; Proven application of effective pedagogical practices, teaching strategies, and instructional design principles and best practices to enhance learning, including demonstrated competence in online course design; Demonstrated expertise in a variety of software tools and systems. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Personal computer and standard office equipment skills; Ability to work with standard scanners, digital and video cameras; Knowledge of ADA compliance in the development of online courses. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree or Bachelor's in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a technology-related field; Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and creative thinking skills, customer service oriented and ability to work in a team environment; Experience using Quality Matters or another rubric for online course improvement with training in Quality Matters course review; Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop), and screen capture software; Experience in working with video and audio editing software such as Audacity or Final cut; Experience with Captivate, Camtasia, new media tools (e.g. chat, web conferencing, discussion boards, white boards, video and audio plug-ins, Facebook, social bookmarking), and learning management systems (e.g. Moodle and others); Familiarity with HTML and CSS.
