An SAP TM Consultant job is available in East Chicago, IN courtesy of Adecco Technical. The SAP TM will assist in implementing SAP Transportation Management System (TM) as part of a multi-year logistics improvement program. You will be responsible for working with selected TM consultants and with the Logistics business area to architect the long term SAP TM solution. You will also participate in the detailed design, configuration, and implementation of solution and eventually be the primary support person responsible for ongoing support and configuration. As an SAP TM Consultant, you will work with the business to understand requirements related to the Transportation Planning, Transportation Execution, Freight Settlement, Dock Scheduling and Extended Warehouse Management.
SAP TM Consultant Responsibilities & Job Duties:
  • Working with selected consultants understand the overall SAP direction and create a high level view of end state TM process and systems with the integration points.
  • Do functional mapping, gap analysis and recommend the best way to address the gaps.
  • Author functional specifications at the level required for off-site and on-site ABAP development. Estimate the customization and integration efforts required.
  • Assist in creating detailed project plan, when needed.
  • Review SAP installations at other facilities (in Europe, Canada, Brazil) and incorporate the learning in solution and rollout.
  • Configure SAP-TM to create prototypes and demonstrate how requirements will be satisfied.
  • Provide as needed support with data migration, interface design.
  • Create test scripts. Perform unit tests and integration tests and work with end users on User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Assist with users training.
  • Maintain systems documentation including functional design specifications, test cases.
  • Provide ongoing support.
  • Minimum Education Requirement
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science - Information Systems or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Masters’ degree in Business Administration (MBA). - Preferred
  • Experience Requirement:
  • 3+ years of SAP Logistics hands on configuration and implementation experience.
  • Experience SAP TM or LE or APO TP/VS, BW, and Event Management (*Note: LE or APO TP/VS candidates will receive training in SAP TM.)
  • At least one SAP TM or LE full life cycle implementations
  • Experiences across Order Management, Logistics, and Distribution.
  • Strong understanding of the SAP best practices.
  • Basic ABAP/4 knowledge and debugging expertise, BAPI / LSMW / BADI knowledge, user exit / enhancement point knowledge.
  • Adept in SAP solution manager, ALE process, CTS and Transport processes
  • Experience of configuring idocs in and out of SAP.
  • Experience with integration between SAP and legacy systems.
  • Experience with project implementation methodology and program office concepts.
  • Production support experience
  • Command of English language both spoken and written.
  • Demonstrated design and analytical skills.
  • Preferred Required Skills:
  • Experience with template solutions and multi-plant roll-outs.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Experience in SAPs Warehouse Management solution a plus.
  • Experience in SAP TMS Transportation Planning, Transportation Execution, Freight Settlement.
  • Experience with ITIL concepts and processes a plus.
  • Experience with web development and database design.
  • Upgrade Experience a plus.
  • Implementation experiences in an integrated steel facility a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Middleware Tools, IBM WebSphere is a plus.
  • Experience in SAP Mill Products Solution, preferably for steel industry.
